The Little Red Brick School House district # 7.  Town of Elba corner of Highway 16 & Oxbow Rd., about 1 mile east of Columbus.

Earliest record book found dated 1869 but the school began long before that.  It closed in 1953.  The last treasurer was Arthur H. Tiedt, 1931 to 1953. Other ones on the school board were Otto Ninabuck and Edward Henke.

After the school closed Jack Crombie Sr. got the school, took the roof off, and was moving it and it split apart going over the over head rail road bridge in Columbus on Hwy. 73.

As was being moved it split apart going over the over head railroad bridge in Columbus on Hwy. 73.

Some of the teachers that taught were: Miss Alice O'Connor (Al’s first grade teacher), Miss Alma Eliskie (got married to A. Franz), Miss Bernice Schliewe (got married to August Braunschweig Jr.; then to Waterworth) Miss Gabel.
